This position is located on the North Zone of the Shoshone National Forest and serves as the Zone Hydrologist. Working in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE), the hydrologist has opportunities to develop projects on the zone as well as coordinate across the GYE with hydrologists from other Forest Service regions and Agencies. The position will have responsibility for completing environmental analysis and NEPA, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, collecting field data, conducting and interpreting hydrologic surveys and analyses, identifying and implementing watershed condition assessments and restoration, lead best management practice monitoring, complete wetland surveys, regulatory monitoring and reporting, water right permitting, air quality monitoring, participate in fire through BAER and resource advisor assignments, and provide technical recommendations, guidance, and training to zone personnel.
